Position: Network Operations Analyst I (NOA I)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Network Operations Analyst I (NOA I) is a key position within the Mission Planning Department. The NOA is the subject matter expert as it relates to the Deep Space Network (DSN) infrastructure, project interfaces; DSN operations processes and procedures. The NOA function, in part, develops support plans; conducts tests and publishes reports; trains DSN support personnel; supports critical events; conducts fault analysis in real-time and recommends solutions to minimize data impact.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Assisting in mission planning, preparation, coordination, testing and critical activities.
- Provide operations technical support for all assigned JPL and non–JPL projects.
- Learning to develop, test and maintain all Software Support Files (SSFs) and configuration files required to support missions.
- Assist in Project Interface Tests (PITs) in support of network software or hardware upgrades.
- Maintain working rapport with internal and external customers.
- Assist other NOAs as Technical consultant, conduct technical studies, provide recommendations; address operations issues and anomalies as required.
- With guidance from other NOAs, researches and provides general technical information on DSN resources and facilities, capabilities, and interfaces with the flight projects.
- Assist in developing Network Operations Plan that documents, Testing, Training, Operational Plans and Operations Procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associates of Science (AS) Degree - Astronomy, Planetary Sciences, Mathematics, engineering, or related subjects/field.
- Associates Degree degree in a technical field. (mathematics, physics, astronomy, enigneering)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Access, and Excel.
- Must have strong computer experience.
- Must be able to obtain National Background check
Experience:
1-year working experience in a related technical discipline preferred; focused knowledge of spacecraft telecommunications highly preferred; expert level with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint a must; excellent writing and presentation skills are essential.
Prior military experience in satellite communications is a bonus.

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $48,800 - $70,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
