MakeUseOf - Freelance Gaming Devices Writer

This position will operate on a remote, freelance basis.

Are you a Gaming Hardware Enthusiast with a background in writing?

MakeUseOf.com is looking for a Feature Writer to cover content on various Gaming Devices for the website. This includes how-to guides covering various gaming consoles - specifically the PS5, the Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch. That said, you can write across any section of the site in which you have first-hand expertise!

About Us

MUO is one of the largest technology publications on the web today. We aim to equip all readers, whether they’re newcomers to tech or seasoned veterans, with the tools they need to make the most of their technology. 

We simplify complex topics into guides that anyone can understand, whether they’re looking for a list of great apps, need help fixing an issue, or want a product recommendation. Every article leaves the reader with something valuable to take away.

Our Gaming vertical teaches people how to fix, use, or do unique things with their gaming apps, consoles, and services: How to Change Your PlayStation Username on PS4, PS5, and the Web, How to Share PS5 Screenshots and Gameplay Videos to Your Phone, and 9 Ways to Fix Joy-Con Drift on Your Nintendo Switch.

Expectations:

• Write a minimum of 8 feature articles per month, with no upper limit
• You will be assigned articles and have the ability to claim ideas, however, once you are comfortable with the content we publish on the site, we welcome you to pitch your own ideas
• Stay up to date on the latest Gaming tech news, products and updates

What we're looking for:

• Relevant experience in writing and editing
• Expert knowledge on all things Gaming Technology (with specific expertise in one or a few of the following consoles: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch)
• Knowledge of other tech (a plus)
