BSA LifeStructures is searching for a Registered Architect that wants to join a firm that specializes in creating places that support, enhance and inspire healing, learning and discovery. This role will develop design ideas, architectural documentation, and the executable delivery of higher education projects.   • Work with Senior Architect to deliver projects
    • Architectural design and planning process on projects. Assist in client engagement through all processes and tools.
    • Leads preparation of design presentations, design process documentation, and working drawings.
    • Presents design to client or design committee and discuss need for modification or change.
    • Responsible for primary oversight on all construction administration activities.
  • Manage project specific scope, budget, and schedule
    • Supports all aspects of project delivery on all phases of projects.
    • Identifies, communicates, and improves design processes with all team members.
    • Complete and accurate coordinate across all Disciplines, Design & Execution components
    • Support, oversee, and evaluate work of architectural team and BIM technicians.
    • Coordinates project delivery process across all design and construction phases of projects.
    • May "own" small projects in entirety and/or significant portions of larger projects related to project delivery. Participates in all portions of project documentation including drawings / details / specifications necessary to deliver project within assigned workplan hours.
    • Manages small teams and assist other project team members in the development and maintenance of workplans.
    • Recommend alterations to design to improve quality.
    • Participate in project debriefs and lesson’s learned sessions.
  • Mentor younger staff
    • Mentor Architectural Designers and Interns. Provide training and leadership through project work to empower, train, and develop designers.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pursue additional certifications supporting development of expertise (E.G. lean delivery certifications, project management certifications, sustainability certifications, Technical certifications).
  • Continually increase technical knowledge of materials, products, and detailing.
  • Reads publications, attends presentations, and consults with various project personnel to establish design concepts.
  • Promote company’s reputation through good client relations.
  • Continue education through seminars and participation in professional organizations.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps; familiarity with Deltek VantagePoint preferred.
    1. Architecture: Revit, Sketchup, Bluebeam; Graphic Software: InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Accredited Bachelors or Master’s Degree
  • Professional Licensure in Architecture. NCARB certificate is preferred.
  • 10 years related experience. Experience working on healing, learning, and/or discovery project types preferred.
