Diesel Mechanic

We are looking for a full time Diesel Mechanic for 1st shift work in Pompano Beach.   We are looking for someone who is reliable and hard working.  Someone with a minimum of 3 years of experience is preferred but we will consider someone with less experience if it is a good fit.  

Responsibilities include but not limited to

1. Hydraulic System Maintenance:

   • Conduct maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems and pumps used in concrete cutting equipment.
   • Inspect hydraulic hoses, fittings, and cylinders, and repair or replace them as needed to prevent leaks and ensure reliable functionality.

2. Heavy Equipment Maintenance:

   • Perform maintenance and repairs on various heavy equipment used in concrete cutting, such as concrete saws, core drills, and demolition equipment.
   • Diagnose mechanical issues, replace parts, and conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and optimize performance.

3. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working with heavy machinery, hydraulic systems, and potentially hazardous materials.
   • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all maintenance and repair activities.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and hours worked.
   • Prepare reports on equipment condition, repair history, and recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal training or certification in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience working with locomotive engines, diesel and electric motors, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment
• Knowledge of electrical systems, especially 480-volt electric motors, is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively.
• Familiarity with safety guidelines and industry regulations pertaining to heavy equipment maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
