Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Trauma Orthopedic Surgeon. This role specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing traumatic injuries and conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. This role involves providing immediate and comprehensive care to patients who have sustained orthopedic trauma due to accidents, falls, sports injuries, or other traumatic events. Trauma Orthopedic Surgeons work in hospitals, trauma centers, and specialized orthopedic clinics, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trauma Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with orthopedic trauma, including fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries. Utilize imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs to accurately diagnose injuries and determine their severity. Assess patients for associated injuries, including vascular and neurological complications, and formulate comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Surgical Intervention: Perform emergency and elective surgical procedures to repair orthopedic trauma, including open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF), external fixation, and other surgical techniques. Address complex fractures, intra-articular injuries, and polytrauma cases with a focus on restoring function and promoting healing. Coordinate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical interventions.
  • Non-operative Management: Develop and implement non-operative treatment strategies for orthopedic trauma, including casting, splinting, traction, and rehabilitation protocols. Prescribe medications, physical therapy, and assistive devices to manage pain, promote mobility, and facilitate recovery. Monitor patients' progress through regular follow-up visits, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Trauma Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care to trauma patients. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and trauma meetings to discuss patient cases, review outcomes, and refine treatment protocols. Provide timely consultations and expertise to support the management of complex trauma cases within the healthcare facility.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency training in orthopedic surgery.
  • Board certification or eligibility in orthopedic surgery, with a subspecialty focus on trauma preferred.
  • Valid medical license and credentials to practice as an orthopedic surgeon.
  • Proven experience in the management of orthopedic trauma cases, including surgical and non-operative interventions.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, education, and research in the field of trauma orthopedics.
