Pharmacy Consultant, Reimbursement

Blue & Co. is more than a CPA advisory firm: We’re a community and we take care of our own. That’s what our mission and culture are all about — empowering employees to live their best lives both inside and outside of work.

Here is what you would do in the role of Pharmacy Consultant- Reimbursement:

  • Responsible for assisting with assessments of the 340B Drug Pricing Program for our clients. The primary focus of this position is to perform assessments of operating and regulatory compliance procedures and controls to ensure proper application of laws and requirements are met for continued eligibility for the 340B Program. Our assessments are designed to help our clients meet all the 340B regulatory compliance while assisting them with identifying opportunities to grow their programs.
  • To complete these assessments, you will have the chance to work with our clients directly to help gain an understanding of their 340B programs. Your duties during the assessments will included performing testing, reviewing client documents and contracts, identify opportunities for program enhancements, and preparing and assisting with the delivery of the final assessment reports to clients.
  • In addition to working on 340B assessment projects, you will also have an opportunity to work on projects related to Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) consulting, 340B implementation services, Retail Pharmacy consulting, Chargemaster Pricing engagements, and other pharmacy related projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage all aspects of 340B or other pharmacy projects.
  • During our assessments you will have the opportunity to:
    1. Listen carefully to clients. Our clients consider us their trusted advisors. They have problems to solve and come to us for help. Understand their needs and seek to understand the root of their issues.
    2. Build relationships with clients. Talk to clients and get to know them. We value words as much as we value numbers, and it is through engaged conversations you will come to learn what is important to a client. We are looking for individuals willing to engage in conversation beyond basic pharmaceutical matters.
    3. Find solutions. You are the client’s advisor and as such you own the matter you are working on. Sometimes you will have the answer. Sometimes you will have to research it. Other times you will need to seek guidance from other people in the firm. Your role is to make sure the client has the answer they need.

Here are the qualifications you should bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2-5 years of relevant Pharmacy or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • 340B Drug Pricing Program experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills are desired (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Apexus Certified Expert (ACE) certificate preferred or completed within first nine months of employment.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills required; data analytics experience a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in helping clients and coworkers.
  • Capability to oversee, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel to client locations, mostly day trips; overnight travel is required.
