We are seeking a Produce Manager to join our team to oversee the Produce Department Operations at two of our supermarkets located in Rosedale, NY and in Brooklyn, NY. The Produce Manager will play a critical role in our business, responsible for managing inventory, supervising staff, maintaining product quality, and driving sales in both locations.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor and maintain inventory consistent with our store brand, product selection policies and customer preferences.
· Ensures quality and freshness of all produce and suggest changes to inventory, and pricing.
· Create attractive displays, signage, and promotions to highlight featured items, seasonal offerings, and special deals.
· Develop merchandising strategies to optimize product visibility and drive sales.
· Controls department expenses and improve operations efficiencies, by controlling labor costs and by reducing losses.
· Address customer inquiries requests in a timely manner and professionally.
· Train and supervise produce department staff and foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration among staff.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Strong knowledge of fresh produce varieties, sourcing, handling, and merchandising.
· 2-3 years’ experience as a Produce Manager or similar role.
· Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
· Ability to effectively manage staff, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities.
· Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Willingness to learn and grow.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
