The Licensed Practical Nurse Administrative Support is responsible for providing appropriate healthcare services to patients of Primary and Specialty Care Services. The Licensed Practical Nurse Administrative Support will primarily focus on prior authorizations, review of patient charts and other administrative support. They collaborate and support team members to ensure a patient focused approach to care.
As part of the essential functions of this role, Licensed Practical Nurse Administrative Support
- Collaborate and support team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to care.
- Delivers excellent customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization.
- Communicates clearly with patients, providers, insurance companies, and other essential multidisciplinary team members to direct patient care.
- Accesses and retrieves medical records via HEALTHeLINK™
- Verifies patients' medical insurance benefits, update patient’s insurance information as necessary.
- Obtains insurance prior authorizations for referrals, imaging, and medications prescribed by provider(s) and prepares medication refill prescriptions under supervision of prescribing provider. Assists with paperwork as needed.
- Acts as the point person if there is an issue with prior authorizations.
- Reviews patient chart to collect evidence and patient information to support prior authorization request in a consistent and effective manner.
- Provides feedback and follow-up to patients and providers, consistently, effectively, and in a timely manner.
- Functions as Licensed Practical Nurse in direct patient care as needed.
- Assists Nursing Educator with required and recommended trainings to ensure all nursing staff can complete the duties within the outlined LPN Administrative Support job description to provide appropriate backup coverage.
- Actively strives to improve patient service delivery through participation in QI/QA activities. Attends and participates in all in-services and educational conferences provided by staff and outside vendors.
- Other duties as requested.

Required license/certification: LPN; BCLS
