About Building Technology Integrator Business

The regional system integration business called Bosch Integrator Business offers solutions and customized services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Climatec expanded Bosch’s role as a comprehensive supplier of energy, building automation and security solutions. Climatec is recognized in the building industry as an independent single-source integrator of critical building systems including energy services, building automation and security & life safety in the U.S. market. The company provides consulting, planning, implementation and 24/7 remote management. Climatec is active in several market segments and industries including data centers, commercial real estate buildings, and federal, state, and local government. Climatec has operated as an independent entity, maintaining its offices in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, New York, and New Jersey. Climatec continues to represent and integrate numerous leading manufactures’ product lines across its wide range of services, including Bosch products. In 2023, Bosch acquired Canadian-based security integrator Paladin Technologies. Merging Paladin Technologies and Climatec will significantly expand Bosch’s Integrator Business in N. America. Job Description

The Director of Business Integration and Development reporting to the President of Building Technologies Integrator Business North America and plays a pivotal role in planning, developing, directing, and managing the integrator business unit's integration workstreams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define the long-term strategy and integration roadmap based on customer and market needs to achieve BT-IN profitable growth objectives. Utilize a UX-centered approach to identify new business opportunities and drive innovation within the integration process.
  • Project Oversight: Lead and oversee all aspects of business integration projects, from inception to completion, including planning, execution, and post-merger integration activities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of processes, systems, and cultures across the organization.
  • Comprehensive Planning: Develop comprehensive integration plans with clear objectives, milestones, and timelines, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and strategic objectives.
  • Change Management: Drive change management efforts to facilitate smooth transitions, mitigate resistance, and foster organizational alignment throughout the integration process. Design and implement change management programs, utilizing methodologies such as ADKAR, to guide associates through a people-centered change process.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: As a member of the executive steering team, build relationships with key stakeholders and provide regular reports on integration progress, milestones, and associated risks.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify integration challenges and risks, proactively developing strategies to address them and mitigate potential disruptions to the integration process.
  • Communication and Transparency: Communicate integration progress, challenges, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels, fostering transparency and building confidence in the integration process.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate integration performance against predefined metrics and objectives, making necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.
  • External Liaison: Act as a liaison with external partners, advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and facilitate the smooth execution of integration activities.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to integration team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment conducive to achieving integration goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess integration best practices and lessons learned, driving continuous improvement and optimization of integration processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Ideal candidate experienced in:

  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic vision and ability to align integration activities with broader business objectives, identifying opportunities to create value and drive growth through integration synergies.
  • Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent communication and influencing abilities, with the capacity to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization, build consensus, and drive alignment towards integration goals.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to identify integration challenges, analyze complex situations, develop creative solutions, and make data-driven decisions to address issues as they arise.
  • Risk Management: Understanding of risk management principles and experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with business integration activities, ensuring successful outcomes, and minimizing disruptions.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness of cultural differences and ability to navigate cultural nuances in a diverse, global organization, fostering an inclusive and collaborative integration process that respects and leverages the strengths of different cultures.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA or similar) is preferred but not always required.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in business integration, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate development, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing complex business integration transformation projects, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or organizational restructuring.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functional areas, such as finance, operations, HR, IT, and legal, to align processes, systems, and cultures during integration efforts.
  • Ability and commitment to travel domestically and internationally as dictated by the needs of the business – approximately 35% – 45%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to develop and execute comprehensive integration plans, manage resources effectively, and deliver results within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Change Management Expertise: Proficiency in change management principles and methodologies, with experience in driving organizational change, mitigating resistance, and fostering a culture of adaptability and resilience.
  • Basic proficiency in German language is preferred for this role.

Essential Functions:

  • Be able to lift and carry personal computers, materials, etc.
  • Be able to spend a significant amount of time sitting.
