The Assistant Controller oversees the staff of the department and ensures that the team understands the strategy of the department. The Assistant Controller also ensures opportunities are given to their staff consistent with the company’s talent strategies and objectives for development and growth. The Assistant Controller will also understand their customer’s expectations and should ensure a strong customer satisfaction focus both internally and
externally.
How you will make an impact:
Overseeing the monthly close process for corporate, landowners, communities and other entities to ensure the monthly financial statements are closed on schedule and all required adjustments and journal entries are posted by the staff accurately, to include:
a. Providing direction and oversight to the staff.
b. Assigning duties and responsibilities to ensure the close schedule is met
c. Reviewing journal entries and ledgers for completeness and accuracy
d. Reviewing internal financial statements, including variance analyses

What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or related field required.
CPA / MBA a plus.
5 to 7 year’s work experience in a corporate accounting or related position / similar industry with at least the last 3+ years in a management / supervisory role.
Previous experience with real estate development is preferred.
