Take Note: This position will require you to obtain a full DFS County background and Reference check, Nevada Residence fee is $45, and out-of-state residents relocating to Nevada will have additional fees, TB, CPR, and internal testing before beginning your contract with the agency. We do not cover the costs for any of the aforementioned testing or clearances, so some up-front costs exist. However, we can provide up to 40 hours per week if you meet all expectations and engage in quality services with our clients.
Position Overview: The Foster Care Training Specialist is a critical member of our team, dedicated to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and competencies of both staff and foster parents in order to provide the highest standard of care for children in the foster care system. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive training program, which includes pre-service and in-service sessions, with a focus on maintaining the integrity and fidelity of the training materials. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in education or professional training, with the ability to engage a diverse audience and facilitate learning effectively.

Reports To: Training Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive pre-service and in-service training for staff and foster parents, ensuring that all content meets the organization's needs and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development of training materials and curricula that are relevant, engaging, and effective in meeting learning objectives.
- Work closely with the Training Supervisor to assess training needs and develop strategies to address them.
- Facilitate a variety of training sessions using a range of methodologies to accommodate different learning styles and maximize participant engagement.
- Maintain fidelity to the organization's existing training programs and philosophies, ensuring consistent delivery and messaging.
- Evaluate the efficacy of training sessions and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Manage comprehensive records of training activities, attendance, and participant progress.
- Provide coaching and support to foster parents and staff to ensure understanding and application of training content.
- Stay current with best practices in foster care training and adult education to continuously enhance training programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Training Supervisor and other team members to support the organization's goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or associate degree in education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required. Relevant professional training experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience in designing and facilitating training for diverse groups, ideally within the foster care or human services field.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Ability to assess training needs and translate those into effective educational programs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the skill to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using technology and multimedia tools to enhance learning experiences.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current TB.
- Must have a reliable vehicle - Auto Insurance must be in your name or as a designated driver to the policy.
