ANTICIPATED POSITION FOR 2026-2027 SY
Part-time Reading Specialist 
Part-time 10-Month Position with Benefits
QUALIFICATIONS:       




1. Valid NJDOE instructional certification and Reading Specialist certification; Orton-Gillingham certification preferred.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of research-based reading instruction, literacy development, dyslexia, and multisensory teaching strategies.
3. In-depth knowledge of evidence-based reading interventions, progress-monitoring practices, and the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS).
4. Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
5. Strong literacy-assessment, data-analysis, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
6. Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized and small-group reading intervention plans.
7. Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, support staff, and families while maintaining a positive learning environment.
8. Required criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status.
9. Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).
REPORTS TO: Designated Administrator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of tenure track positions per collective bargaining agreement. Starting salaries: Step 1BA - $ 73,699 and Step 1MA - $81,804
The employee is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.
The position is eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends or tuition reimbursement based on district policy. 
The Reading Specialist position (JobID#:2885) is a part-time role, with compensation prorated based on hours worked in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
