Film Rewinder/Slitter Operator

Nekoosa Coated Products (CET Films) is currently recruiting candidates for a Film Rewinder/Slitter Operator at their Lakewood, NJ location.

• Participate in all safety training and conduct periodic audits of LOTO and confined space procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively operate slitting and rewinding equipment to support customer demand,
• Adjust blades (score or razor) on machine shaft, according to widths specified, secure blades in potion.
• Mount roll of material on machine and properly threads machine to run through blades.
• Starts machine and observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding. Is responsible for continuous monitoring of material quality, watching for flagged and unflagged defects.
• Make machine adjustments to stop, start, and regulate speed of machine and to align material with blades.
• Maintains a clean working environment at all times. Including cleaning the rollers and cutting blades whenever and as often as necessary to ensure good cut quality, sweeping floor in his/her area, returning unused materials to their proper storage area when no longer needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of film slitting experience preferred, but not required.
• Must read and write English.
• Basic math skills required, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must be very familiar with both metric and English measuring system, must be able to read a ruler.
• Must be detail oriented with a strong focus on quality.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. PPE, including safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required.
