SUMMARY
The 2nd Shift Converting Supervisor is part of a supervisory team that works a flexible shift which extends across 2nd & 3rd shift operations, with responsibility for Safety, Quality and Productivity primarily in the Converting departments to include Die Cutting, Finishing and Shipping departments with support to the Sheeting and Printing departments when necessary. Primary working hours for this position are 4pm to 1am; however, there will be a need for flexibility to stagger start/end times, based upon Company requirements and customer demand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
1. Coordinate daily work activities in accordance with the Production Schedule and the Operations process owners.
2. Communication of the shifts safety, quality, productivity, and equipment status via emailed End of Shift Report (EOS) as well as direct communication with the process owners and Plant Manager.
3. Ensure all work is produced in accordance with all SPBCo Behavioral Based Safety Policies, Quality Specifications, and Operating Metrics.
4. Coordinate, Collaborate, and Communicate with all departments as required, to support job responsibilities.
5. Maintain shift staffing levels, attendance records and EZLM edits/approvals.
6. Facilitate Regulatory and SPBCo mandatory Safety Training Sessions across the 2nd and 3rd shifts.
7. Initiate, draft, and communicate all progressive disciplinary sessions regarding Safety Performance, Work Performance, and Attendance.
8. Facilitate First Article Approvals of the Die Cutters and Glue lines.
9. Participate in all monthly Metrics Meetings.
10. Participate in scheduled monthly LaborManagement Meetings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct supervision of 2nd & 3rd shift Cutting, Finishing and Shipping departments as well as for support for the Sheeting and Printing departments and their functions when necessary. Maintain an active physical internal/external presence throughout Building and Grounds; provide a strong leadership role model towards all other SPBCo plant personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
PROFICIENCIES / CHARACTERISTICS
1. Technical, general experience in sheetfed offset printing and converting operations.
2. Organized with the ability to work in a time sensitive environment with urgency.
3. Superior communication skills, verbal and written and effective group presentation ability.
4. Proven leadership skills, experience and desire to be a change agent.
5. Procedural knowledge of chemical usage and application within an Offset Litho Printing Operation.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires 35 years of successful experience supervising lithographic printing and converting operation.
35 years of experience supervising in a union environment is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products required
General familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Imaginera preferred
Knowledge of folding carton manufacturing industry preferred.
