Job Description
Description:
- Layout, measure, bend, cut, thread, ream, and fit hydraulic tubing systems.
- Install single line, group tubing and fittings.
- Layout and install pneumatic and hydraulic panels and end devices.
- Layout, measure, fabricate and install tubing trays.
- Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards.
- Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O modules, VFDs, Interfaces & Instrumentation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics.
- Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
- Perform continuity tests on completed assemblies.
- Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate component malfunctions; make necessary repairs or corrections to system.
- Maintain red-line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication.
- Communicate red-line changes to Engineer or Team Leader for revision prior to completion.
- Work with technical support and customers to ensure completeness and accuracy of systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as an Instrumentation Technician with related experience in hydraulic and pneumatic control panel assembly, instrumentation, controls, and/or electrical systems.
- Proficient knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control logic.
- Willing to learn hydraulic tube bending, 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2” predominately.
- Able to understand, evaluate and apply technical information.
- Willing to learn industry and American Petroleum Institute (API) standards as well as electrical theory and terminology.
- Understand piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets and wire lists.
- Supply and be proficient in the use of standard mechanical and electrical hand tools of the trade.
- Capable of driving a forklift and operating company pool vehicle.
- Possess a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
- Must have a hands-on approach and possess a strong work ethic.
