Entry-level Mechanical Engineer / Drafter

Job description

Job Duties:

• Create or revise accurate, detailed drawings of component parts and assemblies.
• Create or edit process routings, verify raw materials and create bills of materials.
• Maintain product drawings, specifications and related Engineering documentation.
• Develop and support methods for testing parts.
• Follow quality control procedures.
• Interact with shop floor personnel to confirm routings, production, inspection and testing of parts.
• Contribute to the company's overall success.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology; or
• Associate's degree or Certificate in Engineering-related field with 2 or more years of relevant work experience.

Qualifications:

• MUST HAVE drafting skills and ability to create 2D drawings and projection/section views. (Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT is highly desirable.)
• MUST HAVE ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications and other technical materials.
• Ability to read and interpret gages, calipers and other inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or defects.
• Hands-on experience with machining, assembly, inspection or testing would be a plus.
• Entry-level, but 2+ years of experience preferred.

Local candidates preferred. No relocation assistance.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
