Heavy Equipment Technician

Founded in 1987, Sansom Equipment Company, Inc. (SEC) is a heavy equipment company that sells and services truck mounted equipment across the Southeast. We are currently looking for skilled Mechanics to diagnose and repair heavy equipment. We are currently seeking skilled technicians to diagnose, test and repair equipment on a variety of refuse bodies.

Job Description

Employee will work under the supervision of the Service Leader. Individual will receive work assignments and daily schedule. Candidates will perform assigned tasks per schedule and process all required documentation.

Skills Needed to Be Successful:

• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment
• Ability to identify component failures, worn or damaged parts and perform quality repairs
• Ability to explain mechanical problems and possible solutions to clients
• Ability to perform basic automotive care and concepts
• Ability to show up on time and on a consistent basis
• Ability to provide basic tooling or acquire the necessary items
• Ability to work well with a team or in a group

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday- Friday
• Shift: 7:00am - 4:00pm with 1 hour lunch
• Shift 7:30am - 4:00pm with 30 min lunch
• 8 hour shift

• Do you have previous Refuse equipment experience with waste/recycling collection units, Street sweepers, Environmental Vacuum trucks,Cart tippers, Knuckle boom lifts, or Hook lift/Roll-off trucks?
• Do you have the 1 year required Hydraulic Experience?

Experience:

• Hydraulics: 1 year (Required)
• Electrical systems: 1 year (Required)
• Refuse equipment Experience (Preferred but not required)
• Computer skills: 1 year (Required)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• CDL A (Preferred)
• Driver's License (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (Preferred)
