Design Release Engineer - Sealants

We are seeking a talented Design Release Engineer with Sealant Experience to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and release of vehicle designs, with a specific focus on sealant applications. This role requires a combination of design engineering expertise, sealant application knowledge, and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop and release vehicle designs, with a specific focus on sealant applications for exterior and interior components.
• Utilize sealant materials and techniques to ensure effective sealing of joints, seams, and gaps in vehicle structures, including body panels, doors, windows, and trim components.
• Evaluate sealant performance in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, humidity, and exposure to chemicals, to ensure durability and reliability.
• Develop and maintain design specifications, standards, and guidelines for sealant applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source sealant materials, equipment, and technologies, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to identify potential issues and propose solutions for sealant-related challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, purchasing, and suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of sealant applications into the overall vehicle design.
• Generate documentation and reports to document sealant application processes, performance test results, and design release activities.
• Continuously monitor industry trends, developments, and innovations in sealant materials and techniques, and incorporate advancements into design release processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• years of experience in design engineering and release, with a focus on sealant applications in the automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of sealant materials, technologies, and application techniques, including adhesives, sealants, primers, and coatings.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) and other design tools.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, automotive manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements related to sealant applications.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
