Job Description

Full-Time Role: 32-40 hours/week

Compensation Package Overview:

  • Guaranteed Pay for Allocated Hours: Earn full pay even if work is completed early; additional hours are also billable.

  • Enhanced Lunch Benefits: Enjoy both paid lunch breaks and provided meals.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Accumulate one day of PTO for every 160 hours worked.

  • Competitive Pay Scale: The starting salary is $25 per hour, with the potential to increase to $35 per hour, including a $5 lead bonus.

  • Monthly Performance Bonus: Earn between $100 and $500 for meeting quality and efficiency targets, with no required rework or unanticipated overages.

  • Incremental Pay Increases: Base pay will be increased by $1 per hour for every 25 fences installed without rework or overtime, up to a maximum of $5 per hour.

  • Progressive Starting Bonuses: Receive a $100 bonus in the first month, $200 in the second month, and $300 in the third month.

  • Expected Earnings After Three Months: From the fourth month, anticipate a standard rate of $30 per hour and eligibility for the $500 monthly performance bonus.

 

Job Overview:

No experience is required!  We will train you BEFORE the Job!  

We are looking for individuals who is attention to detail, shows up on time, like working outdoor, sometimes working alone and sometimes working in a team of 3, with minimal supervision (but with the included responsibility to get the job done right), and doing highly repetitive work day in and day out (setting up fene & rail).  

At CR Fence & Rail, we offer competitive wage, guaranteed hours, PTO, monthly performance bonus, paid lunch & lunch itself, and earn up to $35/hour ($1/hr increase per every 25 fence installed + $5 for being lead).  

This is a long-term position, even during the slow winter season, our hope is to keep our staff busy and have our installer stay with us for the long haul.  

 

3 Key Role Objectives/Accountabilities (& KPIs):

1. Build Rail & Fence (Vinyl, Wood & Metal) (40%): (No fence building experience required- we will train you)

  • Use powertool to install fence & rail

    • Lifting & carrying heavy materials & equipment

      • You must be able to lift 60-80lbs

      • You must be comfortable working with table saw, hand saw, and portable power tools. 

    • Once in a while, hole digging (we typically set the post with a special post setter that does not require digging-- easier for our installer). 

  • Set the line & spacing to 100% accuracy (attention to details)

  • Ensure the post and final fence/rail is upright and 100% secured and level (attention to details)

  • Address/fix any issues the owner spots anytime during AND upon final job walk through (ideally none- follow our process and there should be none)

  • We always start the job on-time, every time and to work efficienty (also while CORRECTLY).  Installers are paid the number of allocated hours even if the job is done early (but if overtime, additional time will be paid). 

2.  Attention to Details, Follow Process & Pride of Work(50%):

  • It is critical no short cut is taken.  We have a very specific process to setting up the fence and a process you will 100% learn BEFORE you set foot on a job site.  We 110% expect our installer to follow this exact/same/repetitive process each day we install a fence/rail.  By following the process- we guarantee little to no issues, so you are looking for installers who love processes. 

    • GOAL is installer to be done before the allocated hours (BENEFIT: you will be paid for full allocated hours even if you get done early)

  • It is critical the final fence / rail is 100% plumb, level, and straight upright.  Our warranty last up to 25-30 years, we cannot afford bad workmanship.  Your attention to detail is a must.  We are looking for installers who is obsessed in getting the job done right, down to the finest detail. 

    • GOAL is 0 rework (BENEFIT: this goes towards the monthly performance bonus + you get to go home early once owner walks the job with you and all good). 

  • There is NO on-site manager.  Installer will be required to submit pictures for progress update and pictures upon end of job. Our goal is 5-star review & referral (as a company, we survive only if we all make money).  The job is 100% down to you, the installer.  We are looking for installers who will take pride in their work and understand win or lose is 100% on the installer.  

    • Drug/alcohol-free (or free of under influence)

    • Punctual (we have a 3-strike rule)

3.  Materials, Tools & Warehouse Management (10%):

  • We like to be as eco-conscious as much as possible, we like to minimize waste.  We rely on our installer to follow our process to keep waste to a minimum.   

  • We have a back-office team that will plan the jobs, specify material requirements, calculate the job time + milestone checkpoints for you; however, you will be responsible to be on the ground pulling the inventory, keeping our warehouse/lot organized, and whatever it odd-misc ends to ensure the job runs efficiently.  

  • As needed, there will be odd jobs/tasks that is outside the scope of installing the fence and rail.

Skills and Abilities

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree equivalent (GED)

 

Experience:

  • One-year related fencing or construction trades experience preferred

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Basic Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs

 

Computer Skills:

  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of software is preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision-Must be able to read reports, data, and statistics on a computer screen (75-100%)

  • Hearing-Must be able to hear and communicate on the telephone and in person (75-100%)

  • Standing/Walking (75-100%)

  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling (75-100%)

  • Must be able to lift up 100 lbs of force occasionally up to 80 lbs of force frequently, and up to 20 lbs of force consistently to move objects.
