Description:

Under the supervision of the Chief Community Engagement Officer, the Director of Community Intervention Services is responsible for the coordination of activities involving the planning, designing, and implementation of collaborative gun violence reduction strategies, developing community engagements, and creating prosocial events & activities in the heart of geographic areas where gun violence and trauma have hit the Rochester community the hardest.

· Reports to the Chief Community Engagement Officer.

· Lead community forums, meetings, events, and other activities that respond to community needs, address gun violence, and advance project prosocial goals.

· Work with Project RISE Steering Committee to ensure collaboration across various funded programs in Rochester.

· Lead, engage and manage relationships / collaboration with state funded programs aiming to eliminate gun violence.

· Maintain accurate and organized project records and files.

· Lead all implementation activities, provide oversight and technical assistance to sub awardees

· Must become knowledgeable of all relevant state guidelines and ensure compliance with DCJS funding program, following protocol, policies and procedures.

· Identify additional partners who may contribute to the overall success of the project; must leverage project and its resources for maximum impact.

· Oversee outreach strategy development; participate or lead where appropriate. Must have a strong willingness to engage in neighborhoods – getting out of the office to meet people, explore neighborhood assets, and strategize in the field over challenges.

· Some evenings and weekends are required

· Represent Ibero in meetings, and any other community related activities.

· Any other duties assigned deemed pertinent by Ibero’s President & CEO or designee.


Authority:

This position holds a relatively high degree of independence within the framework of the agency’s policies and procedures. The individual must be resourceful and able to display initiative and understanding of management systems and interpersonal relations. Must keep immediate supervisor abreast of issues and concerns which merit intervention from higher level management staff.

Skills and Abilities

? A minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising others.

? A minimum of 2 years’ experience leading implementation of projects.

? Valid driver’s license, ability to provide own transportation and travel to various locations.

? Experience working with community human services providers.

? Experience working in public safety OR violence reduction OR community development preferred.

? Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, not required.

? Must be able to perform all functions with minimal supervision.

? Familiar with grant funding requirements.

? Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

? A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may considered.


Physical Demands

The position does require occasional standing, squatting, lifting of up to approximately 10 lbs. and frequent sitting.
