We promote human rights, provide residential services and create employment opportunities for those with disabilities. We are seeking dedicated Direct Service Workers for our residential services who want to help us continue to provide services that improve the quality of life for people with special needs in Mercer County.

Responsible for developing Individual Support Plans (ISP) as outlined in the PA 6100 Regulations for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental health complications either in facility-based setting or community setting. Implements and/or oversees and/or directs implementation of program plans. Monitors progress on at least a quarterly basis; makes referrals as necessary for ancillary services. Provides basic supportive/directive counseling and crisis intervention. Acts as a community employment specialist with family members, local school districts, other providers, and the counties. Responsible for supervising, training, and evaluating and directing all aides which work with their caseload.

Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in discharging their duties, seeking advice and help only with the more unusual and difficult cases.

Work is reviewed by the Administrator of Employment Services/ AWC through conferences, observations, and annual written evaluations of employment in the position.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree, preferred, associate degree or 60 college level credit hours and four years' experience working directly with persons with ID, or two (2) years' experience working with individuals with MH/ID disabilities in a Human Service Agency, or one (1) year supervisory work experience. Valid drivers license.
