Salary: $28.94 - $31.62/hourly starting wage (d.o.e.), $28.94 - $40.06 hourly full salary range (svc yr based)

SUMMARY:

 

The Outreach Services Supervisor works in a staff/volunteer team driven environment to promote and support the mission of the Thurston County Food Bank.

 

The Outreach Services Supervisor is primarily responsible for and oversight of the planning and implementation of outreach strategies to meet community needs.  The Outreach Services Supervisor is the primary staff person overseeing all organizational efforts to expand hunger relief partnerships, the coordination of local community service partners, and marketing strategies in local communities. Specifically, The Outreach Services Supervisor has the integral role of leading the  outreach team  tasked with liaising with community advocates, assessing community needs, and increasing access for community members to needed resources.

 

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):


  • Supervise the outreach team to include recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, providing ongoing feedback, and support.
  • Ensure all the contractual goals are met and on track.
  • With the support of the team, create and implement outreach and marketing strategies to ensure the success of our programs.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the outreach team. Conduct regular meetings with outreach staff to ensure team cohesiveness and consistent messaging. 
  • Preferred bilingual with priority given to speakers of Spanish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and Korean.
  • Travel to create and maintain partnerships within Thurston, Mason, Lewis, and Kitsap counties.
  • Maintain complete program records, daily activity logs, and other reports as dictated by funding sources.
  • Work with community partners, governmental and nonprofit organizations to identify, assess and connect community members to external resources.
  • Establish and maintain positive, productive working relationships with community partners, governmental and non profit organizations.
  • Participate in overall activities to maintain good public relations for programs, services and activities.
  • Additional tasks as determined by supervisor, executive staff and needs of the organization.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:


  • 1-year supervisory experience
  • 1-year experience large-scale client management and/or social service
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in non-profit agency program provision, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of the Thurston County Food Bank; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment, with flexibility/adaptability.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
  • Good organizational skills and detailed orientated.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with public speaking, training and/or teaching adults/volunteers a plus.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Washington State drivers license (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
  • Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire (TCFB will cover this cost)

 

COMPUTER/TECHNOLOGY SKILLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE SKILLS:


  • Demonstrates ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate ability to use or learn CRM

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents operating standard business office equipment and software. Travel by automobile is required for position responsibilities and/or training. Manual dexterity and physical ability to perform tasks (i.e. repeated living up to 50 pounds, continual standing, reaching, bending, and walking).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Salary:  $28.94 - $31.62/hourly starting wage (d.o.e.), $28.94 - $40.06 hourly full salary range (svc yr based)
