The Senior Outreach Assistant/Team Trainer for YYA position will lead by example in providing exceptional customer service to our clients, meeting their direct needs, being assertive to ensure the rules of the Outreach operations are followed. Their duties involve helping train outreach staff, ensuring the team works toward company goals and objectives, and making sure the team is following all policies and procedures. The Senior Outreach Assistant/Team Trainer for Sanford/YYA will support the VP of Growth for Sanford Outreach and Director of Care Services for YYA Outreach. The Senior Outreach Assistant will also fill in as Outreach Assistant when needed.

Requirements:

Responsibilities and Duties (Details below can vary based YYA needs)

Outreach and Support:

  1. Lead as Senior Outreach Assistant with all outreach services to include registration, mail, laundry, showers, charging stations, storage, clothing, hygiene products, etc.
  2. Build trusting relationships with homeless individuals, offering empathy, compassion, and non-judgmental support.
  3. Assist with in-kind donation processing as directed by the Director of Outreach Services.
  4. Assist the Director of Outreach Services with preparing supplies for Outreach Events at different locations.
  5. Ensure cleanliness of Outreach office and designated areas of building.
  6. Will perform all outreach responsibilities and travel to different outreach locations.
  7. May assist with trailer transportation as needed.

Team Training and Development:

  1. Train new outreach team members on best practices, safety protocols, effective communication, and trauma-informed care.
  2. Conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of outreach team members.
  3. Provide coaching and guidance to team members, offering constructive feedback and support for their professional growth.

Administrative Tasks:

  1. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, including client interactions, services provided, and outcomes.
  2. Share updates on outreach activities, outcomes, and challenges for organizational leadership.
  3. Assist with oversight of Outreach Services Operations at direction of Director of Outreach Services.

Volunteer Management:

  1. Assisting with volunteer orientation and training as directed by the Director of Outreach Services
  2. Assisting with delegating volunteer roles and tasks.
  3. Assist with group applications and volunteer applications at the direction of Director of Outreach Services
  4. Reviewing and approving hours on the volunteer website.
  5. Maintaining and communicating with volunteers before and after the volunteer with SALT Outreach Inc.

Partners and Community Engagement:

  1. Collaborate with partners, local community members, businesses, and organizations to build partnerships and leverage resources for homeless outreach.
  2. Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and forums to raise awareness and advocate for the needs of the homeless population.

Crisis Intervention and De-escalation:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to handle crisis situations with empathy and de-escalation techniques.
  2. Provide guidance and support to outreach team members in managing challenging or sensitive interactions.
  3. Call security in the event of a serious client incident.

Qualifications:
