Job Description

POSITION: Group Sales Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Audience Services

CLASSIFICATION: Year-Round, Full-time


OVERVIEW

The Group Sales Manager works under the direction of the Director of Marketing to support strategic goals and increase earned revenue for Cleveland Play House's theatre programming. This position also supports the Managing Director with developing, implementing, and evaluating long-range strategies to ensure CPH achieves its revenue goals for all product lines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Group Sales Manager is a strategic thinker with knowledge of target marketing strategies, event ticketing, sales, and customer service. This role will support the Director of Marketing with the following tasks and responsibilities:


OPERATIONAL & MANAGEMENT

  • Manage all sales for group ticketing to Cleveland Play House performance events.
  • Pitch opportunities to potential clients, networking with educational, theatrical, and community professionals, as well as recreational and mental health organizations.
  • Provide analytics for sales trends, sales trajectory, and inventory management, as needed.
  • Develop long-term strategies to meet sales goals for each production and future programming.
  • Provided sales strategies and outreach support for educational programming that requires ticketed performances.
  • Attend events and trade shows to present programming and events to potential clients.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports for all potential and closed sales.
  • Facilitate and manage expenses for advertising.
  • Manage and maintain database of group leaders in NEO and Bus Tour Groups.
  • Lead generation for new customers, developing year-to-year strategies for growth in revenue.
  • Serve as brand ambassador for CPH in the community.
  • Provide support with drafting and editing promotional collateral.

DESIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • 3+ years of experience in customer service, ticket sales, retail sales, or event brokerage.
  • Strong writing skills with strong attention to grammar.
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills.
  • Experience with CRM or ticketing software, as well Microsoft Office, and Google Suite software.
    • Ability to communicate in an effective, tactful, and professional manner.
    • Ability to adapt to changing situations, shift priorities as needed, and exercise good judgment.
  • Willingness to accept and act on critical feedback from supervisors and leadership.

Salary Range: $36,000 - $42,500. Some nights and weekends are required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the assigned and essential functions.
