We are looking for a skilled construction Concrete Carpenter to facilitate the smooth completion of construction projects. You will ensure that your assigned construction project has an adequate and timely flow of materials and equipment.

Responsibilities for Concrete Carpenter

  • Carpentry Experience: Prior experience in carpentry, particularly with concrete work, is highly desirable.
  • Construction Industry Experience: Familiarity with construction sites, tools, and equipment.
  • Concrete Formwork Experience: Experience in building and installing concrete forms is often required.
  • Reading Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and plans.

 

Skills:

  • Concrete Finishing: Proficiency in finishing techniques such as smoothing, leveling, and sealing concrete surfaces.
  • Formwork Construction: Ability to construct, set up, and remove concrete forms.
  • Carpentry Skills: Knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
  • Safety Compliance: Understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to concrete work.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions on the job.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate measurement and alignment to ensure quality and precision.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Reliability: Dependability and punctuality are essential in meeting project deadlines. Able to work Days/Nights if required. Some of out-of-town work when required.
  • Physical Fitness: Good physical condition to perform labor-intensive tasks.
  • Attention to Safety: Commitment to following safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to different job sites and project requirements.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional attitude and behavior on the job site.\
  • Language: English and Spanish
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license may be required for transportation to job sites.
  • Background Check: Some employers may conduct a background check.
  • Drug Testing: Pre-employment drug testing or random drug testing may be required.

 

Certifications:

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30: Many employers require or prefer candidates to have OSHA safety training.
  • Concrete Certification: Some employers may require certification from organizations like the American Concrete Institute (ACI) or the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Most employers require at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Vocational Training: Completion of a vocational or technical training program in carpentry, construction, or a related field is often beneficial.
  • Apprenticeship: Many Concrete Carpenters start as apprentices to gain hands-on experience and training.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to conditions that include weather such as heat and/or humidity and cold, fumes or airborne particles, exposure to dust and asphalt, and moving mechanical parts. The Concrete Carpenter is regularly required to: • Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand. • Talk and hear at normal levels. • See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus. • Reach with hands and arms. • Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines. • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
