The Heavy equipment mechanics work with vehicles and machines used in mining and ready-mix operations. Mechanics work on but are not limited to loaders, dozers, excavators, mixers, crushers, screens, and plants to make sure they continue to run safely at optimum efficiency. Heavy equipment mechanic, must be able to perform repairs on all types of equipment, be able to troubleshoot diesel/gas engines, hydraulic, electric, and power train systems. Must have some welding and fab experience, work well with others, keeps daily work records, have basic computer skills, and perform scheduled maintenance services.

Heavy equipment mechanic, must be able to perform repairs on all types of equipment, be able to troubleshoot diesel/gas engines, hydraulic, electric, and power train systems. Must have some welding and fab experience, work well with others, keeps daily work records, have basic computer skills, and perform scheduled maintenance services.
Essential duties of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic:
- Repair and maintenance on specialized equipment, loaders, dozers, excavators, mixers, pick-up trucks, and other various equipment.
- The right candidate will be a self-starter, self-motivated, punctual, organized, a hardworking individual with good mechanical skills,
- Able to follow direction unsupervised and work well alone or in a team environment.
- This position will require some travel, to work on the equipment at various sites in the surrounding area and possible out of town work.
- 5 years' experience in diesel truck and mining equipment repair
- Basic welding & metal fabrication
- Must have own tools
- Driver's license required, Class A Driver License Preferred
- Need clean dmv, pass a dot physical and drug test, responsible for keeping service vehicle clean, organized, and well maintained
- Must be able to work assigned, overtime, weekends and emergency shifts.
- Other duties as assigned
