Role
As a TIG Welder (also known as a Welding Technician, Fabrication Welder), you'll be an integral part of our team, working on production welding and weld repair of castings, dies, molds, fixtures, and various equipment in accordance with weld procedures and customer specifications. You'll also be responsible for the fabrication of copper backups, operating all aspects of the production AC/DC power source, and managing all components of the weld torch.
Benefits- Competitive starting rate of $27.07/hr., increasing to $28.39/hr. after 12 months.
- Comprehensive training provided, Monday-Friday on 1st shift (6am-2pm) for up to 6 months.
- Opportunity to transition to 2nd (2pm-10pm) or 3rd shift (10pm-6am) after training.
- Experience in TIG welding and familiarity with various alloys including aluminum.
- Ability to determine weld wire alloy designation and sizes, allowable weld sizes and locations, correct power source parameters, and gas settings for welding torch and backups.
- Experience in blending welds for repair/production weld castings, prepping welds as needed, and performing finishing, rework, and metal cleaning associated with a metal cell operator (MCO).
