Screenprinting Operator - 1st Shift

Hopkins-Elgin is a fast-paced, mid-sized printing company headquartered in Elgin, IL. If you're interested in working on the industry’s most state-of-the-art equipment, look no further! We are seeking to add an experienced Wide-Format Digital Print Operator to help run our state-of-the-art flat bed printing presses.

Summary: As a screen printer, you will be responsible for creating the printing design pattern, mixing the correct ink colors, loading the screen onto the printer, producing the final printed articles, and cleaning the machine after each batch.

Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Thursday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times. This is an on-site position requiring the employee to be present physically.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Assist screen printing operators in setting up and operating screen printing equipment.
• Prepare screens, inks, and substrates for printing jobs according to job specifications.
• Load and unload substrates onto printing equipment and ensure proper alignment for accurate printing.
• Mix and prepare inks for printing jobs, ensuring correct color matching and consistency.
• Monitor print quality throughout production runs and make adjustments as needed to maintain print accuracy and clarity.
• Clean and maintain printing equipment, screens, and work area to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and performing minor repairs or adjustments under supervision.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
• Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
• Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
• Attend all department/company meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or equivalent
• One year or more of previous screen printing experience, preferred
