CURE Pharmaceutical is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research & Development Analytical Chemist to join our team. At CURE, we research, innovate and manufacture orodispersible dosage forms through sublingual and buccal delivery directly into the bloodstream, avoiding first-pass metabolism. Our products are unique, patented and enhance patient and consumer compliance and accessibility.
The R&D Analytical Chemist will perform routine and non-routine GLP and GMP analytical testing in support of oral dosage forms in biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical drug products. You will contribute to new analytical method development/method validation in support of regulatory submissions; typical tests relating to orodispersible dosage forms such as organoleptic, mechanical, dissolution, and permeability evaluations. Duties include instrument maintenance, writing protocols, and generating data required for presentations, manuscripts, and patents. You must have the ability to efficiently organize the routine work with minimum supervision and to properly evaluate and interpret generated data.
In this role, you will:
- Independently design, execute and troubleshoot routine and complex testing for chromatographic and spectroscopic methods (HPLC ,UV, IR) for analysis for excipients and NCE’s and drug products , mucoadhesive strength and resident time, Dissolution studies (Basket/Paddle), Permeability (Franz cells), Micro Encapsulation (Zetasizer), Surface Morphology (SEM/TEM)
- Develop test methods for compendial (i.e., USP, EP) or non-compendial
- Perform ID analysis on raw materials and finished products
- Perform routine sample processing for required analytical methods
- Maintain and oversee adequate performance and maintenance of all analytical instruments in the lab
- Independently perform method evaluation/development/validation and troubleshooting instruments and improvement processes
- Author method development, method validations, SOPs, and stability sections of regulatory submissions
- Serve as a method troubleshooting resource to identify and document critical factors that affect method performance and assist peers in resolving method issues in a timely, cost-effective manner
- Perform critical interpretation of analytical data; analyzes information for technical correctness and accuracy; brings aberrant information to the attention of supervisor
- Maintain working knowledge of routine instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned tasks
- Perform assigned tasks carefully and on schedule according to standard operating procedure and supervisor instructions
- Ensure timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements. Participates in company sponsored training and maintains current status of certifications
- Prepare reports on project status and technical issues and their resolution affecting the product development
- Maintain state-of-the-art scientific and technical knowledge and innovatively integrate new approaches into the work stream within CURE
- Work in a cross-functional environment interacting with departments such as regulatory, quality, manufacturing and project management
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards
- Suggest improvements for safety, work quality, and productivity Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in chemistry, applied/analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields
- 5+ years of experience in an analytical laboratory
- 1+ years of experience in nutraceuticals, biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical is required
Functional Competencies:
- Possesses broad formulation analytical chemistry knowledge in oral dosage form
- Adequate understanding and ability to maintain and troubleshoot analytical equipment
- Good understanding of USP methodologies, ICH Guidelines, cGMP and FDA regulations
- Well versed in scientific and personal computer hardware and software applications
- Understands timelines and demonstrates a sense of urgency in work and in responding to customers and colleagues
- Proactive, plans ahead, anticipates challenges accomplishes what is expected and adds value to the job
- Good working knowledge of Laboratory Practices with Environmental Health and Safety practices
- Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization

The expected salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, business needs, and other job-related factors, as permitted by law.
