Who are we looking for?

An R&D Chemist II is responsible for work in R&D projects, both independently and in collaboration with other R&D personnel, and often as a collaborating member of a cross-functional team.  The mission of the R&D Chemist II is to develop new products and processes as dictated by business needs, conducting sophisticated chemical research quickly, cost effectively, and safely. Maintaining alignment with high R&D standards as well as with Product Management priorities for development are essential. 

What will you be doing?

Support Senior R&D scientists in new product development, process improvement, and technical problem solving on existing products. 

Design and execute laboratory experiments to develop new formulations and processes following strict laboratory safety standards. 

Operate laboratory instrumentation and perform routine analyses including titration, pH, X-ray, optical microscopy, cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry analysis. 

Analyze, interpret and document experimental results accurately and clearly, maintaining high standards of data integrity. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the improvement of existing products, as well as the development and successful commercialization of new products.  

Who are You?
 

Self-driven, curious, with a passion for science, technology and problem solving. 

Practical laboratory experience preferably in any of the following fields: general electrochemistry, electroplating technology, materials science, formulation for electronics manufacturing.  

What competencies will you need?

Work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and teamwork within cross-functional areas. 

Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats. 

Ability to use statistical methods to design and analyze the results of complex experimental programs.

Experience with DOE and statistical analysis software (e.g. Minitab) would be advantageous. 

Experience with Microsoft Office applications is required 

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related scientific discipline

A minimum of 3 years of experience working in laboratories/R&D laboratory environment (industrial experience highly advantageous)

The typical base salary for this position is $81,470 to $122,206.
