Job Description
General Description:

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for delivering a high level of service to colleges and universities ensuring systems are implemented timely and performed as outlined in the client contract. The BSA will ensure the systems operate in accordance to the school, state and federal guidelines provided during the data gathering sessions including ensuring the Student Batch Load process happens timely for all school clients. The Business System Analyst supports FA Solutions and the client, working under general supervision, to analyze moderately complex business problems with regards to new system implementations, Title IV rules and regulations, and State and Institutional funding requirements. BSA will troubleshoot issues through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Responsibilities include analysis of business, client, and end-user needs and preparing detailed business requirements. This position will need to be organized, analytical and able to stand out when making presentations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the Student Batch Load process ensuring schools and vendors understand responsibilities and necessity of the process
  • Perform system set up, implementation, and testing
  • Monitor, research, resolve, and document post-implementation problems and revision
  • Consult with client and internal departments to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, process Improvements, system enhancement requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements
  • Coordinate with client SIS vendors as needed
  • Assist client with client SIS FA related process changes as needed
  • Meet with client schools to deliver system demonstrations, review information requirement, and address implementation questions
  • Write and maintain functional specifications for new or modified business systems
  • Track and document changes to functional and business specifications
  • Work closely with clients to identify and address areas of improvement, including after implementation follow up
  • Lead training sessions as necessary
  • Communicate with clients and co-workers in written and verbal format
  • Maintain compliance in all areas of responsibility
  • Create or assist others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures
  • Create and deliver training to external or internal staff as requested
  • Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience contributing to equivalent knowledge and skill set in report development or analytics.
  • 5+ years General knowledge of Title IV Rules and Regulations
  • High level of analytical skills
  • SQL Query Writing a Plus
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail oriented with demonstrated high level of initiative and proven ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently preferred
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • To effectively organize, plan, control and prioritize work/projects; Ability to regularly communicate progress to appropriate stake holders. Efficiently manages resources and understands work/project scope, key players, urgency, inherent risks and business benefits.
  • Displays and promotes high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational and government standards.
  • Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities to meet deadlines. Ability to deliver on commitments as promised and able to acknowledge when commitments are not met and takes appropriate steps to fulfill what has been promised
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze, identify and solve problems while using sound judgment. Able to implement solutions to address business issues. Knows who to involve and takes appropriate action.
  • Ability to anticipate, understand and manage customer expectations and consistent delivery of services. Clearly and effectively conveys information
  • Experience in a variety of financial aid management systems.
  • Experience processing federal funds in a variety of academic year structures
  • Experience creating, delivering job aids and training
