General Summary
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of maintenance duties required to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment in and around campus facilities; troubleshoots, performs minor repairs, and responds to emergency calls for service; implements setups and take down for a variety of campus and community events; works closely with staff/faculty to meet the maintenance needs of the area. Work independently and autonomously. Ability to use good judgement and make quick decisions as needed in the absence of supervision.
Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field is desired.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Valid Texas driver’s license

- Ability to speak and understand oral communication in English language.
- Knowledge of building maintenance technology or relevant field is desired.
- Basic maintenance and plumbing repair experience
- Ability to speak and understand English language.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to use School Dude or related facilities software to perform assigned tasks and completions.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
- Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
- Implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
- Plan and schedule minor repairs.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
- Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Inspect buses for interior and exterior cleaning and ensure functionality.
- May work with Pesticides; HVAC Service Contractors, Elevator company, etc. on accessing building and unlocking specific areas when services are rendered.
