We are hiring a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our Seattle Team. As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, you'll work closely with peers in substance use disorder (SUD) services, including the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). Utilizing your own life experiences, you'll provide individual and group support, encouragement, and resources to help patients navigate their pathways to recovery. Reporting to the SUD Program Manager, you'll offer peer recovery support services, outreach, engagement, and care coordination. The approximate hours for this position are 6 am – 2:30 pm. The pay for this role is $24.04 - $26.53 an hour.

Requirements:
  • Provides all appropriate and approved peer recovery support services to patients enrolled in the SUD program.
  • Provide outreach and engagement services to maintain retention in treatment services, especially for patients who have difficulty engaging in treatment.
  • Assist patients with obtaining needed resources and support through care coordination and case management services through advocacy. Examples of resources and support including housing, daily living activities, transportation, basic needs, financial planning, vocational needs, additional behavioral health needs, etc.
  • As a role model for recovery, assist patients in developing and moving forward with their recovery goals. Document peer-related goals, objectives, and interventions in patient’s EMR treatment plan in a timely and complete manner.
  • Provide interventions and de-escalation assistance, when necessary.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a community resource guide.
  • Provide a positive, empathetic, and non-judgmental treatment setting to all patients.
  • Always maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Document all services provided into individual patient electronic medical record (EMR) chart in a timely manner.
  • Submit any required documentation or paperwork to supervisor and/or manager in a timely manner.
  • Provide care coordination efforts with internal and external providers to assist patients in achieving their treatment plan goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED and continuing education in related field.
  • WA State Peer Counselor Certification required.
  • WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credentials required.
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources and ability to facilitate/coordinate access to those resources.
  • Experience in working with individuals who are diagnosed with a substance use disorder.
  • Experience in utilizing an electronic medical record system.
  • Able to Works effectively with diverse populations.
  • Able to maintain a professional image within the community at all times.
  • Basic Computer proficiency is required
