Financial Analyst

Silver Airways, a leading regional airline headquartered in Hollywood, FL, is hiring a fulltime Financial Analyst who will support Silver’s Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group. The Financial Analyst's objective is improvement of our short and long-term forecasting accuracy, financial performance, and accountability to financial and operating objectives. The Financial Analyst performs as a shared resource with Accounting to research variances, formulate accrual methodologies, and analyze vendor spending, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of deliverables of the Finance and Accounting groups.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

• Reporting Expert: Develops and maintains the accuracy and integrity of the FP&A monthly reporting packages. Responsible for delivering scheduled management reports, which include monthly close reporting and the metrics summary
• Key Accounting resource: Facilitates monthly close, accrual reconciliation, vendor research, and capital spending classifications
• Performs ad hoc analysis: Supports objectives of FP&A, mines data, identifies trends and provides insights, and delivers accurate and complete reports
• Process improvement and report automation: Continually looks for efficiencies in processes and reporting and works with business application owners to automate and enhance reports
• Facilitates P&L transparency: Research and advise on proper categorization and segmentation of spending recorded to the general ledger. Collaborate with Accounting to increase visibility on key line items.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

• Must be able to work ONSITE 100%
• Undergraduate degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting required
• 2-4 years of relevant experience required
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Superior analytical skills with an understanding of budgeting, forecasting techniques and variance analysis
• Adaptability and flexibility in the use of analytical approaches pertaining to financial issues
• Excellent teamwork skills, with proven ability to work effectively and professionally with individuals at all organizational levels
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills in English
• Ability to accept ownership, responsibility, and accountability of functional obligations
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management
• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
• Work-related experience in the airline or related industry preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
• Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol screen, as well as a FBI Fingerprint & Criminal History Check
