Manager Shop Operations, Automotive Repair Shop

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team and drive the continued success of one of our automotive shops.

As the General Manager of our automotive shop, you will oversee all aspects of our shop operations, ensure smooth workflow, and deliver outstanding customer service. You will play a vital role in leading our team, achieving business goals, and maintaining our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to the shop's Service Advisors and Technicians, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
2. Develop and implement effective business strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and expand our customer base.
3. Oversee day-to-day operations, including workflow management, resource allocation, and inventory control.
4. Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining high-quality standards, resolving customer issues, and handling complaints in a timely and professional manner.
5. Recruit, train, supervise staff members, conduct performance evaluations, and promote professional development.
6. Monitor financial performance, create budgets, control costs, and analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
7. Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote our shop's services, collaborating with the marketing team as needed.
8. Implement and maintain quality control measures, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and safety standards.
9. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.
10. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implement safety protocols, and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

1. 3+ years experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the automotive industry.
2. In-depth knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance processes, industry trends, and best practices.
3. Strong business acumen with a track record of achieving store sales and profit targets.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
5. Exceptional customer service skills, focusing on customer satisfaction.
7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
8. Proficient in using automotive shop management software and other relevant tools (point of sales system).
9. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
10. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Job Description
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the leadership, management, and operation of a large automotive service and repair shop with between $1.5 million and $3 million in annual sales and up to 12 employees. The General Manager will be fully supported by the Northern Rock Automotive Corporate team.

Responsibilities will include:
Achieving store sales and profit targets
Staffing, hiring, and professional development of service advisors and technicians
Oversight and responsibility over service advisor key tasks, customer satisfaction, business development, vendor management, safety, compliance, equipment maintenance, etc.
Strategic planning and execution with Northern Rock executive leadership

Candidate MUST:
Possess extensive experience in the automotive service industry
Possess a working understanding of:
o Automotive point-of-sales (POS) systems
o Microsoft Office applications
o Pricing, discounting, and margins
o Inventory control methods and accountability
Be able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and management
Be a high performer and contributing member of the team
Have a passion for providing purpose, direction, and motivation to diverse teams of individuals in order to accomplish complex common goals. Be a team player.
Be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the U.S.
Pass an extensive multi-state background check (a clean criminal background is required)
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation:
$80,000-$120,000 annual compensation in first year (base pay plus performance bonus)
o Performance bonus is uncapped providing for unlimited earnings opportunity
