Position Summary
The shipping lead is responsible for efficiently controlling productivity through direct supervision of shipping associate.
Position Description
· Ensure that truck drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
· Direct and coordinate the activities of wrapping team to assist in preparing orders.
· Stage finished orders for shipping and load trucks.· Lead shipping teams to accomplish safely on-time, complete, correct assignments.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
· Adheres to company policies and procedures. Report any employee or process concerns to Management.
· Follow and encourage all safety practices reporting any concerns to a Safety Team member or member of Management.
· Ensures the quality of finished goods in the shipping process.
· Maintains a positive and collaborative work environment (in the department and across other functions.
· Guides, supports, and ensures effective training of team members.
· Shipping customer orders domestically and internationally using specified carriers and freight forwarders.
· Prioritize the daily shipping picks to effectively meet customer needs.
· Packaging of all outgoing shipments utilizing specified corrugated and foam packaging.
Approval
The Executive Team (CEO, Controller, Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer, VP of Operations, Human Resources) will be involved in all hires. Team determines need, Human Resources will facilitate the process and select candidates, Controller will verify budget for the position. The position’s direct manager will also be part of the interviewing and decision making process as well as a possible peer.

Position Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· History of success in a position of accountability is preferred.
· 2+ years of shipping experience.
· Experience with inventory, cycle counts, or audit is a plus.
· Proven ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
· Basic Computer skills.
· Experience and ability to operate a forklift.
· Proficient counting / math skills.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, carry.

Work Environment: Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations. Work is performed in a sometimes hot, cold, humid, noisy, industrial environment, and around dust, oil, grease chemicals, and other substances.
