Aquatics Director

Join the La Crosse Area Family YMCA’s aquatics team as our new Aquatics Director supervising the pools at the R.W. Houser Y in Onalaska. This is a full-time, salaried position responsible for providing safe, high-quality aquatics programming for our members and guests.

The Aquatics Director works side-by-side with their staff, their colleagues and our community to create a safe and welcoming pool environment for all, develop high-quality programs and activities, and establish partnerships with other area organizations with a focus on water safety and education.

This position will work closely with the Aquatics Directors at our Dahl Branch and Viroqua Pool to ensure quality and safety training is consistent throughout the organization. Please include a resume.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Hire, on-board, supervise, schedule, and train all lifeguards and swim instructors

● Oversee the pool and assist with maintenance

● Develop and oversee the pool schedule

● Plan and implement special events

● Maintain pool usage records

● BS degree in recreation, fitness, related field (relevant experience may be considered)

● Two+ years of supervisory experience in an aquatic program and/or fitness program preferred

● Preferred or willing to get: ARC or YMCA Lifeguard Instructor, ARC or YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor and/or CPO or AFO Certification Preferred

● Ability to train and certify staff
