Sr Network and Security Engineer



Tillman FiberCo is building a 100% fiber network to support the next generation of broadband services. Tillman FiberCo is a portfolio company of Tillman Global Holdings, a holding company focused on building premier digital infrastructure businesses globally. We have an incredible opportunity for a Network and Security Engineer to join our NPEC reporting to Tampa, Florida.



Requirements and Responsibilities


  • Maintaining network and security infrastructure of the company including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other physical hardware
  • Driving the vendor towards faster network recovery during outage situations
  • Ability to review the technical documentation and create the configuration required to support the services
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting security infrastructure software and hardware.
  • Performing upgrades to network and security infrastructure.
  • Providing technical support and project management for the design, acquisition, and implementation of all equipment supporting Network infrastructure projects.
  • Implementing new and/or executing current processes and procedures that aid in the efficiency of managing and expanding the network.
  • Interact and represent Tillman FiberCo with peering, transit partners/vendors and others.
  • Implementing disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
  • Work jointly with leadership from NOC, Engineering, Business Development, and Supply Chain/Vendor management teams.
  • Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of deliverables and supporting workflows to measure operational performance, as well as identify and assess areas of opportunity for improved process efficiencies and performance.
  • Maintain knowledge of technology in use, and/or under development for its impact or potential impact on the operational business process
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
  • Exercise sound judgement in selecting engineering techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Work closely with OEM Vendors, 3rd party DF/Lit providers, and internal teams to identify the best Value (quality, time, and cost).
  • Design and implement the network portion for new property launches, including new constructions and conversions, and involving the configuration/insertion of new nodes.
  • Must be able to identify issues that will cause delays and apply innovative solutions.

Requirements:
  • Experience in Nokia IP and PON network, Alcatel Lucent IP Network and Fortinet Firewall.
  • Service Provider Experience and understanding of MPLS services like L3 VPRN, L2 VPLS, Pseuodiwires, MP-BGP
  • Experience in designing failover scenario for multiple data center using BGP Peering with ISPs
  • Circuit test and turn up experience for Dark/Lit Fiber circuits
  • Experience in design and deployment of DWDM network
  • Experience in using Google Earth for review of KMZ files
  • BS in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
