Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Job Summary:

Gpac is seeking a Project Architect to join our growing Architectural Department. The ideal candidate will be competent in working with a technical team to successfully develop a building design from concept through construction documents. They will also have a thorough understanding of all building systems including architectural, MEP and structural. This position includes the opportunity to get involved with a variety of projects, with a focus on commercial, municipal and light industrial. Primary Functions

• Team with project designer during programming and conceptual phases.
• Prepare design development and construction documents.
• Conduct material and product research as required for project development.
• Oversee and review work of supporting architectural team members.
• Collaborate with in-house engineers and outside consultants.
• Develop technical specifications.
• Oversee project through construction administration.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.

Desired Education-Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited university.

Skills/ Experience:

• 7+ years of experience, preferred.
• Licensure preferred.
• Prior experience in municipal and light industrial projects.
• Experienced in developing projects using Revit.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
• Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
• Ability to work well with others under demanding deadline situations.
