Summary:
The Interior Construction Designer role is responsible for determining and implementing client’s specifications and requirements utilizing pre-fabricated wall products. Responsibilities include producing detailed shop drawings, coordinating electrical, C.O.M. materials, custom hardware and custom glass orders, making design decisions and answering questions about the products, all while providing a high level of customer satisfaction.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Ability to design and implement new projects
- Ability to implement a well-designed plan using ICE software
- Communicate project expectations to all COR Team members
- Capable of working independently, prioritizing workload, determining and adhering to project timeframes and deadlines determined by Interior Construction Team
- Provide planning services which include: Programming (information gathering and documentation); Field measurements; Design development (block plans and detailed CAD plans), 2D and 3D views using ICE Software and AutoCAD
- Determine project requirements with Sales, Project Management, clients and A&D firms
- Attend weekly Interior Construction Team meetings
- Attend client meetings with Sales and/or Project Manager
- Produce complete and accurate shop drawings per project requirements
- Communicate issues to client, Sales and Project Manager
- Assist Sales in presentation and the selling effort
- Perform self-checks and double checks
- Follow the Creative Office Resources Design Process
- Assist in training new design employees as requested
- Other duties as required

Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from CIDA accredited school
- Professional design experience
- Trained in AutoCAD, and/or experience in reading architectural plans and schedules
- Aptitude for detail
- Ability and initiative to seek guidance and advice to advance training skills on product, design process, and technology.
- Willingness to learn and take direction with a positive, professional attitude
- Produce complete and accurate shop drawings per project requirements
- Communicate issues to client, sales and project manager
- Ability to learn other software programs quickly
- Prepared to work cross-departmentally
- Professionalism in manner, attire and written/verbal communication to interact effectively with a wide range of people both within and outside of the company
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills:
- Must be able to read, write, interpret and communicate fluently in English
- Writing skills must be sufficient to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefully
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn and use new computer programs/applications
- Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work accurately to meet deadlines by adapting to changes in work environment, work assignments, and/or changes in priorities in a flexible way by working from your own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures
- Use analytical and decision-making skills to offer options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team ensuring efficiency of projects from start to finish
Physical Demands:
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Work Environment:
- Work performed in fast-paced office environment daily with visits to various sites including warehouse, construction sites, client sites and offices or remotely
