Position Title: Sales Manager - On Premise
Department: Sales & Marketing
Position reports to: Director of Sales
Primary purpose and function of position: Manage and lead a Sales Team to achieve and execute assigned sales and marketing objectives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage, lead, motivate and develop On Premise Sales Representatives and Sales Development Representatives including selection, performance management and employee relations
• Schedule and conduct ride-withs and team sells as required
• Maintain retail call frequency as required by Wholesaler Equity Agreement
• Establish and monitor quality control standards (product freshness, finished product loss)
• Execute programs to drive key sales objectives and deliver KPI's
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly employee communications, schedules and reports such as volume, inventory and budgets, as required by Wholesaler Equity Agreement
• Drive the execution and implementation of trade marketing plans to enhance the sales, distribution and merchandising of all Grey Eagle brands
• Execute marketing programs such as retailer entertainment, sales promotions, consumer sampling, and merchandising aligned with POC level activation
• Manage expenses for assigned area of responsibility
• Solution minded approach to all customer inquiries
• Communicate monthly pricing information, suggestively sell-in consumer price points and proactively manage price gaps versus competition
• Introduce and sell in new and existing brands and packages including activities to support sell through as necessary
• Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively across multiple departments
• Make daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history, sales data tools (IRI and Mobility 360), competitive activity and special promotional activities
• Adhere to all Federal, State and Local liquor regulations
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred; High school diploma or GED certificate required
• Five years sales experience; familiarity selling consumer product goods and/or beverage products a plus
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Highly self-motivated with a positive attitude
• Project a friendly, courteous and professional image
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer orientation with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and influencing skills
• Ability to safely operate job related equipment
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to: handling cases of beer, reaching above head height, climbing, bending, twisting, squatting and kneeling
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull package product weighing 50 plus pounds
• Regular and reliable attendance required
• Valid driver license and safe driving record
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
• Technologically proficient; including familiarity with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; sales tools including Mobility, VIP, and abmarketing.com
• Ability to pass required pre-employment background and drug screening
• Ability to perform all essential job functions and duties as assigned
