Construction Inspector (ACI and ATTI Certification)

$5,000 - $10,000 Signing Bonus available for this position, depending on experience and certifications

As a Construction Inspector, you will perform contract item inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications on all phases of construction projects.

Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:

• Serves as a construction inspector on roadway projects under the general supervision of the resident engineer
• Tracks and inspects the daily activities of the contractor, measuring completed items of work and recording them for payment
• Determines when the project materials and procedures are not in compliance with project plans or specifications. Submits daily diaries or inspection logs, detailing all daily activities, labor, and equipment
• Uses materials sampling and testing equipment according to appropriate testing standards and procedures
• Inspects traffic control and other worksite items for safety and compliance with standards
• Coordinates with the contractor and public, as necessary, to facilitate construction operations

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:

• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade 1 is required
• ATTI Field Technician is required
• Experience working with ADOT is preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of state and local construction specifications and software systems
• Clean driving record
• Some travel required
• Experience in transportation-related construction projects is preferred
