General Description
The warehouse associate is responsible for receiving product into inventory and for preparing shipment of final goods to customers. For receiving, the warehouse associate obtains shipping quotes, arranges delivery, and properly inspect, identify, and stores incoming shipments to ensure that incoming material fully meets the requirements set forth in the purchase order, drawings, or part specific inspection plans. For shipment, the warehouse associate ensures that product exiting for customer delivery is picked, packaged, and shipped to the customer in an appropriate manner that ensures that product meets customer quality, documentation, and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain shipping quotes for incoming shipments using accurate pick up terms, pick up location, weights, and packaging dimensions.
- Confirm that product received arrives undamaged and includes correct part number, quantities, and key characteristics as called out on the packing list, purchase order, and inspection documentation (if applicable).
- Route material that requires inspection of key quality criteria to appropriate personnel for processing according to part specific
- Ensure that product is properly identified according to the Identification and Traceability procedure and the Preservation of Product.
- Ensure that product is stored in appropriate conditions according to customer requirements and the Preservation of Product procedure.
- Verify that parts selected for shipping, particularly part number and part quantities, match packing list and product documentation.
- Verify that necessary approvals from production (if applicable), sales, and quality assurance are present on packing list prior to shipment.
- Verify that shipment includes all necessary documentation, including packing list, Certificate of Conformance, and/or other inspection documents as required by the customer purchase order.
- Ensure that product is properly packaged and labeled to meet the company’s and any additional customer requirements. Products should be packaged in such a way as to prevent damage during shipment.
- Schedule pick up and product delivery to ensure product meets customer on-time delivery requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or other related field
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Familiarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles
- Familiarity with computers, office software, and barcode inventory/data entry
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Must have valid US driver's license
