Echocardiography Technician | VAHCS NM

Qualifications: Certified Echocardiography Technicians must have a
minimum of two years’ current experience in this field and recent
Echocardiography Technician experience in a hospital setting including
covering inpatient units, and ED. Maintains current clinical skill and
credentialing through in-service programs, continuing education to include
evidence of a certificate as an Echocardiography Technician from the
National Board for Echocardiography (NBE) and a registry number, or
certificate from another body which the NBRC recognizes as its
credentialing equivalent to perform as a Echocardiography Technician and
professional publications.
4.2.2 Duties: Echocardiography Technician duties include, but are not limited to:
Transthoracic echocardiography, Stress echocardiography, transesophageal
echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, and bubble study. Must have
experience/expertise with the Siemens SC2000 machine.
4.2.2.1 Experience in Adult Echocardiograph Services. Able to perform
independently Transthoracic echocardiography, Stress echocardiography,

Christmas Day 25 December

transesophageal echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, and bubble
study.
Possesses knowledge of utilizing appropriate Infection Control practices
(Donning and Doffing practices) and wearing appropriate PPE at all times
while delivering care/treatment to patients throughout Inpatient Units and
ED.
4.2.2.3 Duties may vary according to the needs of the shift, along with
miscellaneous duties as assigned.
