Lead Data Engineer, Big Data Engineering Lead Data Engineer position is a key engineering rolehelping us to design, build, and support our future state data platform here atCAVA. In this role you will be expectedto spearhead the design, development, and implementation of our next-generationdata architecture, while leading and coaching junior engineers.

This role also requires a combination oftechnical expertise & strategic thinking as you will be collaboratingclosely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, andsoftware engineers, to bridge the gap between business requirements andtechnical solutions. What You'll Do: Engineeran innovative, durable, robust, and economically viable data platform enablingbusiness velocity, delightful user experiences, and timely/meaningful analytics Designand develop data pipelines to manage how data flows between disparatesystems. Developdata quality metrics and perform QC tests (system and visual) to verify dataintegrity.

Interfacewith architects, product managers/SMEs and product analysts to understand dataneeds and support the implementation of the business rules intotransformation. Documentthe data blending process along with the specifications and workflow/datalineage. Performcontinuous integration to ensure that every step of the pipeline is testableand automated Performdetailed design (the Physical Data Model and transformations), based onunderstanding of the Logical Data Model (the business requirements) Createdesign documents for data integration or data reporting projects Analyzedata integration problems, provide solutions and recommend correctiveactions.

Analyzesource system data structures and map them to target data warehouseschemas. Musthave excellent skills in requirements analysis, logical/physical modeling, datatransformation and data modeling and technical governance designconcepts. Participatein design and code reviews, documentation of design, and implementation ofmethodologies to ensure high quality deployments Stayupdated with the latest industry trends and technologies, apply them to improvesoftware development processes.

Ensuresecurity and data protection measures are implemented within softwareapplications. The Qualifications: 6+years of experience as a Data Engineer, with at least 3 years in a lead role. Experienceand Comfort working with large scale data sets.Petabyte scale, with daily ingress and egress numbers in the 10's ofTerabytes Provenexperience designing and implementing data architectures on AWS, Azure, orGCP.

Expertisein managed cloud services for data storage, ingestion, and processing. Will need to articulate the services used forvarious stages of the data lifecycle. Strongproficiency in Python, R, Scala, or Java Experiencewith notebook environments and big data engineering tools such as: Databricks, Sage Maker, Google Colab, Jupyter, etc Handson experience with streaming tools such as:Kafka, Flume, Spark Streaming, or Flink Believerin day one thinking and first principles engineering Abilityto work with and geographically disperse teams, both on and offshore Willingnessto work in 24x7 model when required.Expectation is that you support the code and products yourself and yourteam create OccasionalTravel Required Physical Requirements: Abilityto maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and otheroffice equipment Mustbe able to identify, analyze and assess details Forcertain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to50 pounds Abilityto communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively Constantlypositions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food productionsupport or office operations, as applicable Abilityto work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner Whatwe offer: Competitive salary, plus bonus andlong-term incentives* Early Wage Access!* Unlimited PTO, paid parental leave, pluspaid opportunities to give back to the community Health,Dental, Vision, Telemedicine, Pet Insurance plus more!
