General Mechanic
Location: Bremerton, WA
Boarhog LLC is seeking an experienced General Mechanic to support the Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) on the Bremerton Valve Barge.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
· OSHA 10 Certification required.
· Interpret manuals, instructions, specifications, and technical drawings.
· Use and maintain tools and specialized mechanical equipment.
· Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.
· Understand the use of measuring instruments (mechanical, electrical, electronic, and as appropriate to the line of
work)
· You will work as a member of a team.
· Maintain ship propulsion machinery and auxiliary equipment.
· Clean, adjust, test, and maintain valves, fittings, and hydraulic hoses.
· Maintain auxiliary machinery including pumps and valves.
· Repair valves, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, and hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
· Create and analyze machinery operating reports and records.
· Interpret blueprints and drawings to verify the required repairs are made on marine machinery.
· Utilize tools such as: micrometers, feeler gauges, dial indicators and other precision instruments to determine
condition and serviceability of parts and components according to specifications.
· Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment such as pumps, compressors, and fire-fighting machinery used on
vessels.
· Troubleshoot marine machinery equipment to identify if trade material, tools, or equipment is defective, not operating
properly, or not within operation specifications.
· Repair and adjust water and sewage systems, hydraulic piping systems, with components such as controls, relief
valves, and a variety of pipes and fittings.
· High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 5 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
Preferred experience:
· Active Security Clearance
· TIG/SMA/MIG Welding Certification
· Shipboard fluid systems piping experience.
· Navy Machinist Mate Rate (E-5 and above) Experience
· QA/Work package experience
Additional Selection Criteria:
· Eligible candidates must either currently have or be eligible to obtain and sustain a SECRET clearance. Boarhog's Facility Security Officer will immediately determine the cleared eligibility of successfully screened candidates as a prerequisite to a conditional offer of employment.
