Employment Type: In-Person, Full-Time, Salary, Exempt

Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 8:00am-4:30pm and Thursday-Friday 11:30am-7:30pm

About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in securing and maintaining employment opportunities. You will work collaboratively with clients to identify their skills, strengths, and career goals, while also intervening with high-risk clients to help them overcome barriers to employment. 


What You’ll Do

  • Provide leadership in the implementation of Our House program and services by drawing on best practices in the field, innovation, and sharing of resources
  • Perform general Career Center tasks, including conducting Program Orientation, working Resource Hotline shifts, and providing case management services to residents and community members
  • Client assessment and goal setting
  • Pair clients with appropriate job openings based on their skills, experience, and ability
  • Curate and promote job opportunities in the community
  • Participate in job fairs, networking events, and community outreach activities to promote Our House, Inc.'s employment services
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting progress and outcomes
  • Generate regular reports on program metrics, outcomes, and successes
  • Help facilitate workshops and training sessions on topics such as job readiness, workplace etiquette, communication skills, and conflict resolution to help clients develop employability skills
  • Provide ongoing support to clients after they secure employment, including assistance with workplace challenges, job retention strategies, and career advancement opportunities
  • Provide guidance and support to clients in their job search process, including resume writing, cover letter preparation, job application submission, and interview preparation
  • Conduct other duties as assigned to fulfill Our House’s mission


What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of professional work experience
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to planning 
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-direction
  • Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to relate with clients, show empathy, and de-escalate where appropriate
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Must be trustworthy, hard-working, positive, and adaptable
  • Data management experience preferred
  • Previous nonprofit experience preferred


Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccination required or must meet the legal guidelines for an exemption
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle to use in performance of job. Position requires some travel within Central Arkansas.
  • Must be able to pass criminal background checks, child and adult maltreatment registry checks, sex offender registry checks, and a pre-employment drug screen
