Operations Manager - Live Insects

Fluker's Cricket Farm is an insect agriculture company offering insect ingredients towards the insect consumption pet marketplace. Our mission is to contribute to a more circular food system by producing sustainable insect ingredients for pet food and pet nutrition.  As Fluker's Cricket Farm enters an exciting new stage of growth and expansion of our insect production, we are looking for an Operations Manager for our Live Insects at our Port Allen, Louisiana facility.

• Full-time 
• Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 (Depends on Experience)
• US Work Authorization (required)
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) is mandatory
• Must be able to work with insects (crickets, mealworms, superworms, and mealworms) at all life stages
• Must possess strong personnel management skills; applicant will be required to manage several teams in different areas of the farm. These duties include hiring and terminating individuals.
• Able to correctly input lab data in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
• Able to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Able to pay close attention to detail and make precise measurements
• Ensures all personal safety equipment is in good condition and maintains proper usage
• Observes and adheres to all safety and security procedures
• Maintains both clean and safe work environments, and ensures all work areas are clean each day
• Able to responsibly mix chemicals for sanitation with the appropriate ratios
• Must be self-motivated, flexible, and have a positive attitude
• Able to work well in both a team-based environment as well as with limited supervision
• Able to read and write English and Spanish, with excellent communication (oral and written) skills
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively
• Be able to work well under pressure and with time constraints
• Able to lift 35 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Be able to work in hot and humid conditions
• Possesses strong multitasking and decision making skills
• Must possess reliable transportation
• Must arrive on time and prepared for daily job tasks
• Must be able to perform other duties as assigned
• Forklift certification is a plus
  
• Flexible schedule: 4 hour shift/8 hour shift/day shift/Monday to Friday. Some Saturday and Sundays required.
• Language: English & Spanish (required)
• Work location: Port Allen, Louisiana (on-site)
