Position Summary:
We're looking for a full-time Dentist for our Jackson Heights location. The Dentist is responsible for delivering comprehensive dental care to our diverse patient population with sensitivity and professionalism. This position requires a compassionate, skilled professional who is dedicated to promoting oral health and overall wellness within the community. The Dentist will diagnose and treat a wide range of dental conditions, with a strong focus on preventative care, but also including restorative, pediatric, periodontal, endodontic, surgical, and prosthetic procedures. The Dentist also will need to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated healthcare delivery, addressing the unique needs of each patient. In addition, the Dentist will participate in community outreach initiatives from time to time, providing oral hygiene instruction and dental screenings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive dental care. Procedures include, but are not limited to:
- Preventative care, including exams, fluoride treatment, sealants, SDF application, and prophylaxis.
- Periodontal care including scaling and root planing
- Restorative care including fillings.
- Endodontic care including root canal treatment of incisors and premolars.
- Surgical care including uncomplicated extractions.
- Prosthetic care including posts, crowns, bridges, and dentures.
- Pediatric care (according to patient behavior and nature/extent of treatment)
- Refer patients to specialists as needed.
- Professionally provides patient care in line with the organization’s mission and goals, while upholding HIPAA policies.
Qualifications:
- DDS or DMD degree from a CODA-accredited program
- NYS Dental license
- DEA registration
- BLS certification
- Medicaid-enrolled provider
- Completion of 25 hours of continuing education in the past year.
- Up-to-date mandated coursework including pain management, palliative care, and addiction (DEA mandatory prescriber education); infection control (NYS requirement)
- Proficiency in performing all dental procedures listed above.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience after graduation, preferably in a community health center setting.
- Experience with Medicaid guidelines preferred.
- Proficiency in a language other than English preferred.
