Job description

Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Affordable Movers
Location: In-Office / On-Site
Job Type: Full-Time

Affordable Movers is seeking an experienced and hands-on Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the company’s technology, systems, software, data, and digital operations. This is an in-office position for a technology leader who can help improve internal systems, streamline processes, protect company data, and support continued company growth.

We are looking for someone who can work directly with ownership and leadership to evaluate current technology, improve operational efficiency, and build stronger systems across the company.

The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing business software, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, reporting systems, automation, process improvement, and technology strategy in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company’s overall technology strategy and IT operations.
  • Evaluate, improve, and manage company software, systems, and digital tools.
  • Oversee technology used for operations, dispatch, customer service, HR, recruiting, payroll, reporting, and internal communication.
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency through automation, system upgrades, and better workflows.
  • Ensure company data, employee information, customer information, and financial information remain secure.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity standards, access controls, and internal technology policies.
  • Work with leadership to build reports, dashboards, and data systems that support better decision-making.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to software, hardware, telecommunications, and IT services.
  • Troubleshoot technology issues and create long-term solutions.
  • Support company expansion by ensuring systems can scale across multiple cities and departments.
  • Train leadership and team members on new systems, processes, and technology updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive IT, systems, or technology leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a CIO, IT Director, Director of Technology, Systems Manager, or senior technology leader preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of business software, cybersecurity, data management, automation, and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate current systems and recommend practical improvements.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on business environment.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, moving, home services, construction, or service-based operations is a plus.

What We’re Looking For:

Affordable Movers needs a technology leader who can do more than maintain systems. We need someone who can help improve the way the company operates through better technology, cleaner processes, stronger reporting, and secure internal systems.

The right candidate will be strategic, organized, hands-on, confidential, and comfortable working closely with ownership and department leaders.

Schedule:

Full-time, in-office position.

Compensation:

Competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
