The Affordable Housing Assistant Community Manager is a supportive role to the Senior Community Manager, dedicated to assisting in overall property operations and various administrative functions. Daily responsibilities include: collection of onsite rents, maintaining new leases and lease renewals in accordance with LIHTC/HOME requirements, resident recertification, handling resident requests and various other functions. Some travel may be required between residential communities.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of tax credits and affordable housing regulations strongly preferred
  • Course work in real estate and/or knowledge of affordable housing regulations preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Package, Email, Data Entry)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism, organizational skills, ability to prioritize work assignments and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively interact positively with community residents
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to alternative communities

Responsibilities and Expectations:
  • Responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the community to ensure quality living accommodations and associated services
  • Assist with the adherence to compliance with the applicable laws and regulations, as well as fair housing laws and other regulations of the industry
  • Responsible for the entire leasing and application process, including processing applications, verifying applicant's data, certifications/re-certifications as appropriate, processing payments, and maintaining supporting documentation in an organized manner
  • Responsible for assisting with maintaining budgeted occupancy for the Community by achieving leasing goals
  • Responsible for assisting with maintaining daily communication and correspondences with current and prospective residents
  • Assists with processing of accounts receivables and payables in a timely manner
  • Assists with developing and implementing marketing plans within budget parameters and focusing on lead generation with specific goals, actions and target dates
  • Assists with managing Marketing database in accordance with established procedure
  • Responsible for assisting with overseeing building maintenance and housekeeping activities
  • Assists with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, supervision and implementation of corrective action and performance reviews for assigned staff
  • Assist with developing positive relationships with residents, family members and other constituent stakeholders of the Community
  • Assist with ensuring residents receive assistance and intervention as appropriate to maintain a high quality of life
  • Assists with planning and coordinating the orientation of new residents
